Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92

Work Information

The second movement is well-known because of being used in the films and the TV programs frequently. This music differs from the marcia funebre of the Heroic Symphony though carrying the melancholy mood. It is graceful, sentimental without grief. The fixed rhythm with the ottava leaping constantly causes the variation of the colors. It ends with an unsolved chord and creates a dreamlike mood.
