Egon Petri (23 March 1881 – 27 May 1962) was a classical pianist. He was an influential figure among many pianists of the middle 20th century. Earl Wild, Ozan Marsh and John Ogdon were among his international students. A big man, Petri had a superb technique and a powerful sonority, and was a superlative exponent of the larger works of Beethoven, Liszt and Brahms. He was also a proponent of new music.  [source from Wikipedia]
