Requiem in D minor, K. 626 3. Sequentia. f. Lacrimosa
This is one of the last works composed by Mozart in 1791. There are totally eight sections and fourteen movements. Mozart wrote six immortal songs in the Sequentia. First in the Dies irae, it shows an unprecedented drammatic tension among the religious music. The orchestral music builds a dreadful grandeur. This powerful music is not so portraying the might of God as directly describing the fear of death within Mozart! Even in all opera of Mozart, only a few works can reach this kind of tension.
