The Blue Danub, Op. 314 Mazurka
This is the waltz of Johann Strauss Ⅱ with the greatest reputation. The translation of the German title is "By the Beautiful Blue Danube". It is called "the second Austrian national anthem". It is said that people live on both shore of Danube suddenly discover that it is blue after this music is composed. This work is one of the repertories of the Vienna New Year's Concert, and is performed exactly at midnight on New Year's Eve as the tradition.
