Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Op. 30 3. Of the Great Longing
There are totally nine sections in this music. The titles come from the original of Nietzsche, except for the first one, Sunrise, which is added by Richard Strauss himself. This music uses the theme similar to the leading motive. The composer recorded on his notebook that it is "the theme of sun". The orchestral tutti and postlude impetuously go back and forth between the major and minor chords to express the mystery of the nature.
