Light Cavalry Overture
This is the overture of the light opera, Light Cavalry, of the Austrian composer Suppé. Although the opera itself is hardly performed and recorded, the overture has become the most popular representative work of the composer. The resounding and resonant theme of Light Cavalry is played by the trumpet in the beginning, and then other brasses add in as if an army full of power and grandeur.
